SPORTS CAMPS
Where: All Camps are held at the Mooretown Sports Complex with the exception of Tennis, Soccer & Bike Programs which are held at C.A.P. Park in Corunna. Ages: 7 – 14 years Instructors: University/college students/graduates trained in First Aid, C.P.R. and related sports experience.
PA DAY CAMP: For costs & availability please see our brochure. BASKETBALL: Rules, strategies, tactics, team and individual skills will be emphasized. The use of game style drills and scrimmages will allow children the opportunity to develop their basketball skills. GOLF: Designed for the beginner and those wishing to refresh and improve their skills. Children must provide their own clubs (driver, putter, iron). TENNIS: Program is dedicated to the teaching of the fundamentals of tennis in an exciting and fun atmosphere. Children must provide their own racket. (Half Day Only – am – CAP Park) SOCCER: Program is geared to all ability levels. Basic offensive strategies, player position and team drills will be covered. (Half Day Only – pm – CAP Park) TRACK & FIELD: Using the IATF guidelines, children will be instructed in both track & field events. Proper form will be emphasized. Skills taught in this camp will be of great use in all other sports. SPORTS COMBO: For a variety try a combination of sports! Designed to develop skills from all areas. Each day will be dedicated to a different sport! JUNIOR LIFEGUARD SWIM CAMP The Junior Lifeguard Club has been designed by the Lifesaving Society for a serious purpose – but the process is pure fun. Children will work towards personal best swim times, lifesaving skills and individual first aid, C.P.R., and swim lesson certifications.
Each Sports Camp has its own week. You have the option of registering for full days or am only. (Tennis & soccer are half day only). For full day programs, mornings will involve concentrating on the particular sport for that week while afternoons will include a variety of activities such as swimming and games. Please note that we are a “Nut Free” camp.
What to bring.......... Sunscreen, hat, drinks, equipment necessary for the sport (golf clubs, tennis racket), lunch, snacks, bathing suit & towel.
DAY CAMP/FUN FIT PROGRAM
St. Clair Township Department of Community Services is offering a summer day camp for children ages 5 - 12. The Mooretown Sports Complex and staff are host to this exciting program with its 25 metre pool, 2 ice surfaces, fitness centre, surrounded by a playground, Moore Museum, Parkway Golf Course, Campground and the beautiful St. Clair Parkway!
Camp Creations brings the exciting experience of summer camp to children with crafts, songs, games, BBQ’s, swimming, skating, special guests, field trip excursions, fun fitness and much more! Each week has a specific theme with weekly newsletters to inform campers of the events. Campers have the option of registering for the day, week or full summer. Note: When registering for the full summer Sports Camp & Day Camp are interchangeable. WHAT TO BRING......
Campers will be asked to bring a lunch, two snacks and beverages for the day. Campers will be swimming daily so they are asked to bring their bathing suits and towels every day. Sunscreen and hats are also recommended to protect children from the sun.
The entire day will be fully supervised by qualified college or university students certified in CPR and First Aid and trained in the administration of EpiPens. Also, just a reminder that we are a “Nut Free” camp.
