Ranger Patrol at-a-glance · H20 Proficiency – Head first entry & compact jump, somersault sequence, stride & swim head up 25 M., eggbeater, support object, kick carrying object, underwater swim, head up swim into surface dive & swim underwater to recover & carry object, remove conscious victim, swim 100 lifesaving medley, swim 200 M. in 6 min. or better. · First Aid – Assess conscious victim, rescue breathing, conscious obstructed airway, shock. · Recognition & Rescue – Simulate/recognize nonswimmer & unconscious victim, locate & describe objects below surface, 20 M. approach with buoyant aid for non-contact rescue.
· H2O Proficiency – dives & entries with aids, entry with aid & swim head up 25 M. to ready position, sculling, defenses, eggbeater, kick carrying object 25 M., clothed roll in & swim 5M. to don PFD & assume HELP for 30 sec., support object 2 min., remove unconscious victim, Head up approach into surface dive & swim underwater to recover object & return, support victim, workout 600 M. 3 times, swim 300 M. in 9 min. · First Aid – victim care/assessment, external bleeding, unconscious obstructed airway, rescue. · Recognition & Rescue – whistle signals, approach & tow weak/nonswimmer.
